IRVING (1080 KRLD) - Two North Texas cities are among the top five for speeding drivers who caused accidents.
A car insurance website called Compare Auto analyzed numbers from the federal government and determined Irving is ranked second among cities with populations of at least 200,000. Plano is fifth.
The study compared speeding-related fatality crashes to population size from the years 2013 to 2017.
During that period, more than 53 percent of Irving's fatality crashes were due, at least in part, to speeding.
For Plano, the number was over 49 percent.
Also in the top 50 were Arlington at 19, Garland at 26, Dallas at 27 and Fort Worth at 43.
