The Dallas Police Association president won't be facing charges of evidence tampering in the Amber Guyger case.

Guyger was off duty when she killed Botham Jean inside his own apartment claiming she thought it was her own and he was an intruder.

Dashboard camera video showed Dallas Police Association president Mike Mata walk up to the squad car Guyger was in and instruct another sergeant at the scene to turn off the in-car camera.

Mata's attorney Robert Rogers praised the grand jury's decision saying his client did nothing wrong and was simply protecting an officers rights.

Guyger was convicted of murder and sentenced to 10 years in prison.
