"Islam teaches us, wherever we are, wherever we live, we follow the law of the land," says Khalid Kark, Vice President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Dallas Chapter. "Obviously we're going to follow the guidelines from the CDC and local authorities."
That means mosques will be closed to ensure social distancing, and stop the spread of COVID-19.
"It's going to have a very tangible effect on the Muslim community all over DFW, in fact, all over the nation, and the globe," Kark says.
But Kark also points out, there are other ways to engage virtually with the Muslim community.
"We're using technology quite effectively to still learn about the religion," says Kark. "We're going to have a Zoom meeting with all of our community members listening to that explanation of the Holy Koran and connecting together."
