DALLAS (KRLD) - Living in South Dallas around the turn of the new year, gunfire is fairly common, says UNT Dallas student Jaylon Miller. Unfortunately for Miller, 20, and his family, the gunfire that broke the silence in the early morning hours of January 5, was meant for their home.
To make matters worse, the bullets that tore through bodies also ripped apart a home, and Miller's family has been displaced since the shooting. But when UNT Dallas graduate student Melawn Dineen, a Marine Corps veteran, and mother of a young boy heard about the shooting, she knew she needed to help.
