DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - The trial for Richardson father Wesley Mathews is now underway, he's on trial accused of murdering his 3 year old daughter Sherin.
But at the beginning of the trial, Mathews suddenly pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of injury to a child by omission.
The punishment phase of the trial is currently underway.
Mathews faces a possible life prison term for the October 2017 death of Sherin.
The child's body was found in a Richardson culvert about two weeks after she was reported missing.
