Having been in the fitness industry for two decades, Addie Inman knows how important physical fitness is, but over the past few years, Addie says she's seen a concerning trend.
"Kids used to be out and about and active on their own," Addie said. "The difference now is that kids have so much more at their disposal, you really have to make sure that they are getting out and active."
Addie has been helping children get active and stay in shape at My Gym, which offers physical fitness classes for children 10 and under that also encourage socialization, helps them with development and fine and gross motor skills.
Not all children have physical freedom and the My Gym Foundation raises money to buy much-needed equipment for children with special needs. The gifts that the foundation raises funds for range from Firefly Friends Play Pak, which helps children sit up and engage in playtime, to wheelchairs to feeding tubes. Through the generosity of donors, foundation outreach and other events and has served over 450 kids nationwide in 2019 alone. The gifts make life more manageable for the kids and their families.
"It changes your life to see how their lives have changed," Addie said.
