DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Dallas Cowboys search for a new back up quarterback has officially begun, after 2019's reserve Andy Dalton agreed to terms on a 1-year $10 million deal with the Chicago Bears.
Dalton leaves the Cowboys to presumptively become the Bears new starting quarterback, which was likely the tipping point in his decision the head to the Windy City.
Dalton, who took over as the Cowboys quarterback following Dak Prescott's season ending injury in week five, started nine games for Dallas, completing 64.9-percent of his passes for 2,170 yards and 14 touchdowns, with just eight interceptions.
The 10-year pro and former Cincinnati starter won four of his nine starts for the Cowboys, helping to mitigate the loss of Prescott, as the Cowboys finished just short of NFC East title behind the Washington Football Team.
Dalton now goes to Chicago, where the Bears have been searching for an answer at the quarterback spot, following a disappointing tenure from Mitchell Trubisky, and an injury-shortened campaign from former Super Bowl MVP, Nick Foles.
