An Afghan national is under arrest in North Texas after authorities say a video posted on social media appeared to show him assembling a bomb intended for the Fort Worth area.

The suspect, identified as Mohammad Dawood Alokozay, was taken into custody earlier this week and booked into the Tarrant County Jail on a terroristic-threat charge.

According to federal officials, Alokozay entered the United States in 2022 under Operation Allies Welcome, a program that provided resettlement support for Afghans following the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan. Homeland Security agents placed an immigration detainer on him following his arrest, meaning he will remain in custody while the investigation continues.

Law enforcement officials have not released additional details about the contents of the video or the circumstances leading to Alokozay’s arrest. The case remains under active investigation by local and federal agencies.
