Two missing McKinney girls are safe and their grandmother is behind bars, ending an Amber Alert that was activated last Thursday night.

On Sunday, McKinney police confirmed the two sisters, ages six and nine, had been found safe.

Their grandmother, Jame Burns, was arrested in Richardson and was booked into the Collin County jail Sunday night. She's being held on several charges including two counts of kidnapping.

McKinney police say CPS has temporary custody of the girls and the agency was overseeing a visit with their father at a pizza restaurant. That was when, as police reported, Burns took off with the girls, touching off the Amber Alert.

Also arrested on Friday was the girls' father Justin Burns who is also charged and being held on two counts of kidnapping.
