The union that represents the flight attendants for American Airlines rejected the company's latest contract offer on Wednesday.

Julie Hedrick, the president of the Association of Professional Flight Attendants, said the proposal the company floated looks familiar.

"Actually this is not a new offer. This is an offer that they changed slightly. They wanted a short-term deal that would match Delta wages at that time," she said. "We put that out to our members. They overwhelmingly said no."

The APFA board rejected the offer. The flight attendants have been working without a contract for five years. They want a pay raise similar to what Southwest Airlines flight attendants negotiated, plus back pay and other benefit increases.
