ARLINGTON (1080 KRLD)- A nonprofit based in Arlington is asking for volunteers and no registration is necessary.
Mission Arlington says it needs volunteers to deliver Thanksgiving meals this Thursday. About 6,000 meals are going out across the community.
Mission Arlington Director Tillie Burgin says the year before the pandemic, about 6 thousand volunteers came out to help distribute meals. They’re hoping for the same turn out this year.

Volunteers don’t need to sign up, they just need to show up at 8 a.m. Thanksgiving morning outside the Mission Offices.
It's a beautiful way to teach your kids about giving," says Tillie Burgin, Executive Director of Mission Arlington. "It's a wonderful place to be if you're kind of alone on Thanksgiving Day and you want to be with others. And it's just a great opportunity to serve and get to know the community."
"This community is super," Burgin says. "We know it's about people getting fed, but it does build community here. People helping people. The way God intends for life to be."
Burgin says deliveries should wrap up by noon so everyone gets the chance to go home and celebrate the holiday with their families.
