At least two people have died on the icy freeways this morning.

It's been a long time since we have seen so many collisions in Dallas Fort Worth, with at least more than two dozen accidents reported at one point overnight.

The traffic problems began around midnight when the temperatures fell below freezing. Suddenly, what had been water from Thursday's melted ice became ice once again, and from one end of DFW to the other, big rigs and passenger cars began slamming into one another.

One wreck turned deadly in Garland where at least one person was killed in a multi-vehicle crash on I-635 / LBJ near Jupiter Rd. That stretch of 635 was closed down for the investigation and clean-up.

There was another reported fatality on Highway 360 in Arlington where a hit-and-run driver slammed into a stalled car, causing a chain-reaction crash invovling a couple of other vehicles. Police say one of those drivers died at the hospital.

And in Fort Worth, a similar chain reaction crash happened where a driver was killed on Highway 287 near Berry.
