In one case, a coyote attacked a small dog near Bedford Road south of SH-183. In the second case, a person walking their dog encountered a coyote.

Officials with Bedford Animal Services say in most cases, coyotes will keep their distance from humans. If a coyote does return to the same area frequently it can be scared off by loud noises from an air horn, whistle or car horn. They say in most cases, if a coyote is not active aggressively, no action is required.

Bedford city officials are advising people to keep their pets on a leash and to avoid feeding wild animals. Anyone with information about individuals feeding wildlife can call Bedford Animal Services at 817-952-2191.
