DALLAS (1080 KRLD)- Contractors for the City of Dallas will get a pay raise to keep up with inflation.
Dallas has a policy in place that companies that get contracts to provide services for the city, like landscaping or janitorial have to pay their employees a living wage.
Researchers with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology calculate that figure for major cities.
The rate for the current fiscal year was $18.24 per hour, but it's going up for the fiscal year that starts October 1st to $22.05 per hour.
