General admission guests for the Republican midterm convention cannot drive or take regular transit to American Airlines Center. They must ride official “GOP Express” buses from Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie, according to the Republican National Committee’s guest guidance and FOX 4 News.

The two-night event at the downtown Dallas arena runs Wednesday and Thursday, Sept. 9–10. Organizers have said they expect about 20,000 people each night. The RNC says the shuttle is mandatory and free with a valid convention ticket.

Lone Star Park gates at 1000 Lone Star Parkway open at 10 a.m. both days. The party’s website tells guests to arrive no later than 1 p.m. because of traffic. Parking is free and first come, first served. Attendants will ask for a ticket confirmation email before directing cars to lots. Physical tickets and lanyards are issued on site.

Buses begin running about 2 p.m. to the arena’s main Secret Service checkpoint. FOX 4 reported the shuttles will not operate from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. either night. Return trips to Grand Prairie start after programming ends.

Downtown streets around Victory Park are closed through Friday, Dallas police have said, and DART’s Victory Park station is shut. No Uber or Lyft pickups are allowed in the secure zone. The FAA has banned most drone flights near the arena.

Clear bags no larger than 12-by-6-by-12 inches are allowed. Backpacks, large purses and a long list of prohibited items are banned, the RNC website states. No injuries have been reported tied to the shuttle plan.

President Donald Trump is scheduled to speak both nights. Vice President JD Vance also has a prime speaking slot.
