The Dallas Cowboys earn a Christmas Day road win, beating the Washington Commanders 30-23 on Thursday afternoon at Commanders Field in Maryland.
The victory improves Dallas to 7-8-1 and sets up a season finale next week against the New York Giants.
Dallas controlled the pace for much of the game, building an early lead and doing enough down the stretch to hold off a late Washington push. The Cowboys’ offense moved the ball consistently, while the defense forced key stops to preserve the win on the road.
The Christmas Day matchup marked Dallas’ final home-and-away divisional game of the season and snapped a three-game skid. The Commanders entered the game already eliminated from playoff contention, while the Cowboys were also out of postseason contention heading into Week 17.
Dallas will now turn its attention to the regular-season finale in New York against the 2-13 Giants. The Cowboys already beat New York earlier this season and will look to finish the year with back-to-back wins.
