
Dallas will spend $15 million to make sure the downtown convention center is ready to host thousands of broadcasters during the World Cup.
The Dallas area will host several soccer matches during the 2026 World Cup tournament and the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center will serve as the International Broadcast Center for the entire tournament.
That means between 3 and 5 thousand journalists, camera crews and other staffers will use the convention center as their base of operations. The Dallas City Council approved spending $15 million on upgrades and improvements to the building mostly to support the technical needs of the international broadcast crews.
