Commenting on a Super Bowl ad showing hateful graffiti at a Jewish home, Dallas City Council member Cara Mendelsohn asks "do you wonder if this really happens?"
The hateful, anti-Jewish symbols and language were found scrawled across the fence of Cara Mendelsohn. She was elected to represent District 12 in Far North Dallas. The graffiti was found outside her home on Saturday.
The photographs show the phrase "Baby Killers" scrawled several times on a fence alongside upside-down red triangles which according to the Anti-Defamation League is often a symbol that can signify support for violent Palestinian resistance against Israel.
Mendelsohn says the graffiti was accompanied by what she called, "a disgusting pile of rocks and bricks and fake dead babies" some of which are also spray-painted red.
Mendelsohn is Jewish and she believes this is an anti-semitic hate crime. Anti-Israel and pro-Palestinian protests have increased sharply since the Hamas terrorist group's October 7th massacre of Israelis.
In January, a group of pro-Palestinian protestors marched and rallied outside of the councilwoman's home, according to NBC 5.
Mendelsohn says she never feared for her safety until after that October attack. Since then, she reports receiving a death threat and says her staff has received threats in recent months as well.
Dallas Police and the FBI are investigating the crime.
