Starting today, Dallas is expanding the hours at its libraries.
The total number of hours that most Dallas Public Library locations were open was scaled back during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the city has been working to restore them.
This year's Dallas city budget includes adding 65 staffers in the library department so most branches will have additional hours in the early morning or evening, and will be open six days a week.
They'll still be closed at least one day a week, either Sunday or Monday, depending on the location.
The main public library downtown has previously been closed on both of those days but from now on will be open on Sundays.
