A 54 year old woman was just one of three people murdered in Dallas over the weekend.
Lynetta Washington was hit by a stray bullet during a street racing incident, as she walked to her car. Deputy Chief Terrance Rhodes says their street racing task force is making a dent, but they are still behind the criminals often.
"The task force responds to the calls, mostly in the south west patrol division. But they really all over the city, and they go where the calls are, and the hot spots where they like to congregate," Rhodes says.
One man was killed at a car wash on American Way. Another man was killed at an apartment complex on Webb Chappel Extension.
Dallas police are asking anyone with information on the murders, to contact Det. Brian Tabor at 214-671-3605 or brian.tabor@dallascityhall.com
Crime Stoppers is also offering up to a $5,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest and indictment in the case. Tipsters can call 214-373-8477 at any time.
Police say a summer crime plan is in the works.
