Less than a month following his social media tirade directed at the people of Dallas, rapper T-Pain's concert is on the move.

In April, T-Pain called out the people of Dallas after it turned out he had sold just 26% of the available tickets for his May 18th concert. He then followed this up with a tweet questioning whether the venue he is set to perform in - The Factory in Deep Ellum - was the reason.

"Aight. So what I’m gathering from all the responses, is the spot they chose to put me in for my tour date in Dallas doesn’t have a super dope reputation, is that correct? Do I need to make them move the show to a different spot/city?" T-Pain's Tweet read.

Despite reassurances following this in a Tweet from Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson that "Dallas is the only Top 10 city in the US where violent crime fell last year and overall violent crime is down even more so far this year," T-Pain confirmed on Tuesday that he will be moving his concert to the Texas Trust CU Theater in Grand Prairie.

T-Pain admitted that the decision to move was motivated by safety concerns. This comes after a shooting at a hair salon in Dallas last week - which is being investigated by the FBI as a potential hate crime - as well as another shooting in Deep Ellum which also occurred last week.

"I want to send my condolences out to the families of the people that lost their lives the other day," T-Pain said. "Thank you to the mayor for stepping in and trying to reassure me but we've got to reschedule, we've got to reschedule the Dallas show. It's just that time. It's only right for the safety of me, my fans, my team, and everybody around us."

The concert will now take place on June 24th, with T-Pain assuring fans that "Every ticket will be honored, every VIP package will be honored."
