Denton County health officials say they have a new priority, getting COVID-19 shots to kids.
The county's gearing up to open indoor vaccine clinics, created just for kids, at several different locations.
"We're going to have maybe five clinics in the next few weeks just dedicated to kids five to eleven," says Denton County Health Director Dr. Matt Richardson. "It is a different formulation of vaccine with a different dosage, so we're not going to mix manufacturers."
Richardson says there will not be a drive-thru vaccine option for kids, and even though having the clinics indoors will limit volume, the county still anticipates vaccinating around 6,000 children.
