DFW AIRPORT (1080 KRLD) - A TSA K9 at DFW Airport has become a local celebrity.
Lexa-Alexey is a four-year-old German Shepherd, named in part after a victim of 9-11.

Last year, Lexa-Alexey’s handler, Jennifer S., entered her into the TSA’s Cutest Canine Contest.
“I didn’t think anything of it,” says Jennifer. “I just put it in as for fun.”
Well, it just so happens that Lexa-Alexey went pretty far in the contest.
“She ended up in fourth place,” says Jennifer. “And then in November, they notified me that she made the calendar. So now, her nickname is ‘Miss November.’”
Lexa-Alexey has been patrolling DFW Airport since September of 2019, screening passengers for explosives inside the terminal.
Her favorite treat is anything crunchy with a side of peanut butter.
Jennifer says as cute as Lexa-Alexey is, at the airport she’s all business in helping keep passengers safe.
“She knows as soon as the vest comes on, as soon as she leaves her K9 vehicle, she’s always working,” says Jennifer.
