Police in Kaufman County are hunting for the driver of a truck who was towing a trailer that was completely in flames Sunday, flames which touched off at least three grass fires along the way.
Officials say nine homes near Kaufman were evacuated shortly past noon Sunday as the burning trailer left what investigators called "a path of destruction behind."
They say the suspect abandoned the flaming trailer and got away.
Fire crews immediately jumped in to contain the three fires and the evacuation order has now been lifted. Investigators are hoping for tips leading them to the driver.
