The community is rising up to support Arlington Sam Houston boys soccer coach Joey Rodriguez who is on life support fighting Covid-19.
Keller Central coach Brandon Voss has organized a Go Fund Me page to help support Rodriguez's family during this stressful time.
Rodriguez and his wife Lena have three children. At the end of August, he was rushed to the emergency room with acute symptoms. He also has an immune system disorder that complicates his recovery efforts.
Yesterday, friends and family gathered outside the hospital to pray for Rodriguez's recovery.
Today as family & friends prayed outside of the hospital, inside he responded to my voice and opened his eyes as they lessened the sedation to check his responsiveness. I told him of everyone's love and support. He squeezed my hand and went back to rest. I'm so thankful for this. pic.twitter.com/HQjYagQvUn
