WHITE SETTLEMENT (1080 KRLD)- White Settlement police and the FBI are investigating reports of drones flying near federal and military properties as well as neighborhoods Tuesday night.
Around 8:15 p.m. officers saw the drones flying in the area near Bomber Road, Silver Creek, and North Las Vegas Trail and worked to find the pilot behind them. Officers then responded to additional reports at 8:54 p.m. and 10:21 p.m.
The city is near the Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base, so White Settlement and areas around it are "NO FLY ZONES" due to being a military operation area in the national airspace.
In addition to the FBI, the city's also working with the Naval Criminal Investigative Service and the Air Force Office of Special Investigations to figure out where the drones were going and who was behind them.
White Settlement Police Chief Christopher Cook says "While we do not believe there were any immediate threats related to last night's activities, it is concerning due to operating in "NO FLY ZONES" near federal and military properties."
Anyone with information is asked to contact Sergeant Steven Person at 817-246-4973 or 817-246-7070.
