When record cold hit Texas in February, the Department of State Health Services says 151 people died, but the actual number may be almost five times higher.
The Texas Department of State Health Services says 151 people died, but a report by Buzz Feed says the state only included deaths from hypothermia, carbon monoxide poisoning and accidents involving ice.
Buzz Feed says the CDC would include other cases, like people with kidney problems, heart disease or diabetes put through additional stress because of power outages and extreme cold. More than 700 people died from those causes.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott says he's working with the Texas House and Senate to find "lasting solutions" to make sure the power outages are not repeated.
