Fort Worth cracking down on nuisance properties

Police in Fort Worth are cracking down hard on so-called nuisance properties, working to shut down some crime-ridden locations in the city.

The Fort Worth Police Department is teaming up with the city attorney's office to crack down on nuisance properties, properties where criminal activity runs rampant and the owner does little or nothing to stop it.

One of the properties police say they are targeting is the Days Inn on I-35W and Seminary. One man who works for a business next door says it's a problem area for him, his coworkers, and his customers.

Recent incidents at that Days Inn include narcotics, aggravated assault, and homicide, according to police reports.

If a court grants the city a permanent injunction, it could order the motel to be closed for at least one year.
