Fort Worth: Shooting leaves DPS Agent hospitalized

Fort Worth (1080 KRLD)- A shooting on Friday afternoon in Haslet, TX left a DPS Special Agent in a serious condition with one suspect in custody.

In a statement made by the Texas Rangers: "At approximately 2:15 p.m., a Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigations Division (CID) Special Agent was conducting an investigation in the Haslet area."

"During the course of the investigation, the Special Agent encountered a suspect at a residence in the 14,000 block of Mainstay Way. The suspect discharged a firearm and struck the Special Agent. The Special Agent did not return fire."

The injured agent was being treated at a hospital in Fort Worth for non-life-threatening injuries. Per NBCDFW the agent was released on Saturday.

The uninjured suspect was taken to custody.

The DPS concluded their statement by saying that their investigation is ongoing.
