If you're still searching for a spot to watch the once-in-a-lifetime solar eclipse this coming Monday, the Cotton Bowl in Dallas; Fair Park has got you covered.

With thousands of seats, there's sure to be plenty of room and plenty of space to park. Parking by the way will cost $12.

Solar eclipse glasses will be provided for free upon entry (while supplies last), and will feature experts from NASA, NOAA, the National Science Foundation, as well as world-famous astrophysicist Neil Degrasse Tyson.

This eclipse is expected to last 4 minutes and 27 seconds, which is twice as long as the previous total solar eclipse that occurred in 2017.

The National Science Foundation says even the European Space Agency is working with groups here in the USA to study what happens during the eclipse. The foundation's Kerry Black says this gives them a chance to see deeper into the solar atmosphere and even to study solar storms.

Black says those storms can affect your cell phone and even knock out power transmission.

nasa heliophysics division director joe westlake says he hopes filling the cotton bowl with kids asking questions will inspire the next generation who will lead us to place we might not imagine now.

Gates open at 8:30 a.m. Monday, with registration information on FairParkDallas.com.
