(Dallas, TX) -- A Garland teenager who was the subject of an Amber Alert last month is now locked up at Lew Sterrett on a capital murder charge.

When Natalie Navarro’s name first hit the headlines in August, there was concern she’d been abducted by suspected kidnapper Jordy Martinez.

However, the Alert was canceled the next day after Navarro was found safe 500 miles away near Laredo.

Around the same time, a man named Arturo Pena was found murdered in Garland. Martinez and Navarro were identified as suspects, and Navarro was brought back to Garland for the investigation.

Last night, she was transferred from Garland to the Dallas County Jail, where she remains today. Martinez is still on the lam.
