The new Grapevine-Colleyville school superintendent has been named and it's a familiar name to many in the district.

Interim Superintendent Brad Schnautz has been selected as the lone finalist for the job on a permanent basis. He's been with the Grapevine-Colleyville district since 2017.

Schnautz's selection was on a unanimous school board vote with several trustees giving him high praise.

In his education career, Schnautz has been a superintendent in the Lexington school district, a junior high principal, a high school principal, a math teacher and a coach.

He has his bachelor's degree and doctorate from Texas A&M and his Master's from Sam Houston State.

Schnautz was appointed interim superintendent last year when GCISD Superintendent Robin Ryan retired. By state law, the district has to wait out a 21-day interval before Schnautz's hiring becomes official.
