GRAPEVINE (1080 KRLD)- The Grapevine Police Department is looking for help to find the culprits behind several missing stones from the 9-11 Flight Crew Memorial.

Police say on Monday, April 8 they arrived at the memorial site located at 1000 Texan Trail in Grapevine where they were informed the stones had gone missing from their enclosures.

The missing stones include one from the crash site in Shanksville, Pennsylvania and the limestone fragment from the impact zone of the Pentagon. Both are "a vital piece of history that allows us to remember and pay tribute to the flight crew members," said Grapevine police in a press release.

Police say they are working to piece together a timeline to understand when it is the stones were last confirmed to be inside their enclosures while using surveillance video.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Sergeant Oscar Ramirez at oramirez@grapevinetexas.gov.
