
The waters are going down now but the early morning rain caused some real problems across parts of North Texas.
Reports show White Rock Creek was running high and fast in Dallas overnight. With an estimated 4 to 8 inches of rain falling in such a short time, flooding was inevitable.
The fields at Dallas Conrad High School were saturated and the Chargettes dance team was waiting to go out for their morning practice, but wet fields mean wet feet so the students were prepared for that.
Dallas police cars barricaded Lawther Road to the north of White Rock Lake because of flooding. Goforth Road, located just north of Lawther, also flooded and some cars were trapped there waiting for wreckers to haul them out.
A section of Eastbound Hwy 183 in Irving was closed at Loop 12/Walton Walker due to flooding. Several cars were also stranded in the high water.
MedStar paramedics responded to more than two dozen rain-related crashes in Tarrant County from Wednesday afternoon through Thursday morning. Dallas Fire-Rescue had a comparable number.
