
Fort Worth-based MedStar is counting more than a dozen patients that had to be treated for heat-related illnesses Tuesday up through 8:30 p.m.
MedStar officials say at least five of them needed to go to the hospital.
For the year-to-date, MedStar paramedics have treated more than 100 patients for heat-related issues. Reports say 60 of those were taken to the hospital and four of those were considered in critical condition.
The youngest was three and the oldest was 80. Two of the patients were children found stuck in hot cars.
