DALLAS (1080 KRLD) -- A Dallas City Council meeting to discuss the job performance of the city manager has been postponed. The meeting was originally scheduled for Wednesday.

Both the Dallas Fire Fighters Association and the Dallas Builders Association have sent letters to Mayor Eric Johnson urging him and the council to move to replace city manager T.C. Broadnax.

Critics say Broadnax was slow to acknowledge the scope of the problem around the massive data deletion at city hall and has done nothing to improve the construction permitting process.

But supporters say Broadnax hired popular police Chief Eddie Garcia after strong criticism of his previous chief, U. Renee Hall. He also ran the Dallas city government during the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic.

Broadnax has been the Dallas city manager since 2017. His current salary is $410,919.
