After just seven months on the Keller City Council, Julie Jacobson has resigned saying she is moving out of Kennedale.

Jacobson was elected in May on a platform of reducing spending and taxes and maintaining Kennedale's small-town atmosphere. But she resigned this week, citing a death in the family that has made her choose to relocate her home.

Her open seat could be filled short-term during the upcoming May elections. Or, the city council could selected someone to serve out the remainder of Jacobson's two-year term in the May 2023 elections.
