President Trump in his first day back in office pardoned roughly 1500 people convicted in the January 6th riots. Trump granted clemency to two North Texans out of those people.

Trump said he also signed commutations of sentences for six defendants. Stewart Rhodes of Grandbury, a leader of the Oath Keepers militia, is one of those people.

"So this is January 6th and these are the hostages, approximately 1500 for a pardon," President Trump said. "Full pardon."

He was serving an 18-year sentence for seditious conspiracy. His sentence will now be commuted to time served.

Another North Texan includes Frisco real estate agent Jenna Ryan, who served time in jail for getting inside the Capitol that day.

"I'm just so grateful," Jenna said. "I believe that we have, you know, civil action against the federal government due to what they did to us, and I think this is going to play out in a very beautiful way that we would have never imagined."

Ryan had gone to Washington in 2021 to take part in President Trump's "Stop the Steal" rally. She supported the President's decision to give a blanket pardon to most of the rioters and commute the sentences of others.

Trump blasted Biden for his decision to pardon several family members roughly 20 minutes before leaving office.
