A North Texas man who was charged in connection with the insurrection at the US Capitol in January wants one of the charges against him dropped.
Guy Reffitt says one of the charges he is facing is 'Constitutionally vague' following his alleged involvement in the deadly riots at the US Capitol building.
The Feds are accusing the Wylie man of "corruptly obstructing, influencing and impeding an official proceeding."
Reffitt's lawyers say that charge is not specific enough in the indictment and they want it tossed. The government says indictment says enough to let the case go forward.
Reffitt is only one of several people accused of bringing a gun to the demonstration while he was fighting with US Capitol Police.
Federal court papers say Reffitt was repelled on the steps of the Capitol by police who were using pepper spray, but continued to urge others to attack.
The papers say Reffitt then went home and threatened members of his own family if they cooperated in the investigation. He remains locked up.
