The Plano schools mask mandate expires Friday after a request for an extension was turned down by the school board last night.
The current mandate has been in place since August 26th. There were proposals to extend it into October or even November.
Several parents spoke in favor of the extension. But when the vote was taken, the trustees were 4-to-3 against extending the mandate which therefore will be allowed to expired at the end of the day on Friday.
