The prime minister of Hungary will join former President Donald Trump in Dallas next month when they attend a conference of conservative activists.

The Conservative Political Acton Conference (CPAC) is scheduled to be in Dallas the first week in August and is slated to have some of the biggest names in politics and conservative speakers on hand.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban spoke at the first ever CPAC conference in Europe that took place in Hungary in May, calling the country "the bastian of conservative, christian values in Europe".

Orban, branded by some as Europe's most notorious authoritarian, has served as Hungary's Prime Minister since 2010, being elected to a fourth term earlier this year.

But other members of the European Union have criticized him for rolling back press freedom and exerting more control over the judiciary and electoral system.

Former President Donald Trump is also scheduled to speak at the conference. He endorsed Orban's bid for a fourth term this past spring. Trump has repeatedly praised Orbán’s authoritarian leadership style, and sent a video message that was played at the CPAC Hungary event in May.
