The FBI, along with local law enforcement officials, joined the Rabbi and the other people held hostage at Beth Israel for a live press conference, Friday afternoon.

During the press conference, Matt DeSarno with the Dallas FBI confirmed the attack on the synagogue in Colleyville was "an act of terrorism based on an antisemitic worldview."
According to NBC5, the Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office has confirmed the cause of death of the attacker, 44-year-old Malik Faisal Akram.
Akram, who police say held four people hostage, including the rabbi, on January 15, was fatally shot multiple times after an FBI hostage rescue team entered the Beth Israel building.
Rabbi Charlie Cytron Walker has said Akram came to the synagogue asking for help. Cytron Walker says he thought Akram might have been homeless and even made him some tea.
Cytron Walker says they waited until Akram was distracted, they threw a chair at him and he and two other hostages were able to escape through a back door. The fourth hostage had been released earlier in the day.
