A seventh ERCOT board member has resigned as fallout from last week's power outages continues.

Last night, ERCOT confirmed that Clifton Karnei has stepped down from the board which has come under heavy fire over the failure of the Texas power grid during the worst of last week's cold snap.


Karnei is an executive vice-president of the Brazos Electric Power Co-op based in Waco.

Five other board members and an alternate had already announced their resignations including Board Chair Sally Talberg and Vice Chair Peter Cramton.
