The older sister of Atatiana Jefferson has died from congestive heart failure. The family of Amber Carr says she died Monday at the age of 33.
More than three years ago, Carr's sister Atatiana Jefferson was fatally shot by Aaron Dean, a former Fort Worth police officer. In December he was sentenced to nearly twelve years on a manslaughter conviction.
A lawyer for the family says Carr's health has been failing for the past several years.
A Victim Impact Statement from Carr was read on her behalf during Dean's sentencing, Carr said she was put in the hospital with panic attacks during the three year wait for the trial and conviction.
