The son of the co-founder of the Buc-ee's chain has been accused of making illegal invasive recordings of people at a family vacation home.

According to reports, 28-year-old Mitchell Wasek, who lives in Dallas, was arrested Tuesday in Austin. He's accused of making multiple recordings of people with spy camera devices, a state jail felony.

The investigation began in May when two people contacted the Travis County Sheriff's Department to report incidents that allegedly happened at the Waske family's Lake Travis house in the Texas Hill County.

They say they found one of those recording devices hidden in a bathroom and took it home with them. The memory card on that camera reportedly contained dozens of images of people in what's described as "various states of undress."

Another witness told police that she found images of herself on electronic devices at Wasek's residence in Dallas. Those were turned over to the Dallas Police Department.

“They were unaware that the recordings existed in the bedroom and bathroom, and indicated they did not consent to being recorded or photographed,” an arrest affidavit stated.

Wasek is now facing 28 charges of making invasive visual recordings. He was released on a $280,000 bond, at $10,000 per charge.

Mitchell's father is Buc-ee's co-founder Don Wasek.
