In Rockwall County several fire departments worked to raise money for a former teacher battling breast cancer.
Every year the Rockwall Professional Firefighters Association holds a t-shirt fundraiser to help someone in their community battling breast cancer.
This year they raised six thousand dollars for Michelle Mullins. She taught in the district for 13 years before she was forced to resign last year to focus on her treatment.
Captain Michael Caffey says it was obvious how inspirational Mullins is to both her teachers and colleagues.
Members of the Rockwall, Heath and Mclendon-Chisholm Fire Departments all took part in this year's fundraiser.
Mullins says "I'm so thankful for this donation," she said. "I'm ready to get back into the classroom and put cancer behind me."
