The players and the league have been in fruitless negotiations since the former Collective Bargaining Agreement expired in December.
On Tuesday, MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred announced the season will start late, cancelling the first two series for each team.
For the Rangers, it means losing their always well-attended season-opening home series against the New York Yankees along with a three game set in Miami.
If no more games are canceled, the Rangers will now open the season in Toronto on April 8th. The first game at home will be April 11th, hosting the Rockies.
