Three people are dead and three others were hurt, that's the result from Monday night's chain-reaction crash in Fort Worth.
Police reports say the crash started out as a fairly minor incident. At about 9 p.m. two cars collided on I-35W near Berry. The drivers pulled over to the left shoulder to exchange information and a Good Samaritan stopped his pick-up truck to help out.
When they had all moved off the roadway, that's when an 18-wheeler crashed into the pick-up truck which then was slammed into the cars.
Then a second 18-wheeler plowed right into the wreckage, scattering victims around the scene.
First responders arrived and both directions of I-35 were closed for several hours. After around four hours, the south-bound side was reopened. But the north-bound side did not reopen until early Tuesday morning. The names and conditions of all victims, both dead and injured, has not been released.
At this time police say weather was not a factor because last night's rain had not arrived at the time. The accident is still under investigation.
