A Fort Worth ISD English teacher who was fired and later reinstated has been fired once again.
Back in September of 2019, the Fort Worth ISD Board of Trustees voted unanimously to fire Georgia Clark for tweeting to then-President Donald Trump to deport some of her students, claiming she was in the country illegally.
Two months later, Texas Education Commissioner Mike Morath reversed that decision.
The school board appealed that decision and on Tuesday, Travis County District Court Judge Catherine Mauzy reversed the reversal and reinstated Clark's termination.
Clark taught English at Carter-Riverside High School.
"The District is pleased that Judge Catherine A. Mauzy recognized the importance of the Board's ability to make employment decisions in the best interests of its students and school community," the Fort Worth ISD wrote in a statement. "Fort Worth ISD does not anticipate the Court issuing any substantive opinion beyond the attached Judgment."
Clark now has 30 days to appeal Judge Mauzy's ruling to the 3rd Court of Appeals in Austin, if she wishes to do so.
