With school starting, an east Texas school district is taking a strong step to keep its students from vaping at school.

A lot of doctors warn about the dangers of vaping, especially among the young. So, the Tyler school district has spent the summer installing more than 70 vape detectors at all four high schools especially in the restrooms.

Superintendent Marty Crawford says there will be zero tolerance on this. The first time students get caught vaping they'll be sent to an alternative school for at least ten days. There's also $100 Class C misdemeanor fine.
